Holy Family path in Egypt
Day One :
Arrive at Cairo International Airport , meet and assist with clearing immigration and customs then transfer to your hotel , Welcoming Drink while meeting with our representative and Group Leader
Overnight in Cairo
Day Two :
Day Tour to the oldest part of Cairo where the Romans built a fortress which we know today as " Babylon " with as many as twenty churches built within the area of one square mile. Now only five remain .
Visit St. Sergius Church (Considered to be Cairo's oldest church, dating from the 4th century AD. Built on the spot where the Holy Family rested at the end of their journey into Egypt 0 , St. Barbara Church , Mar Girgis Church ( Best known for its wedding chamber, which dates from the 4th century AD and was reserved for marriage ceremonies ) , The Hanging Church (Cairo's most famous church , built in Basilcan style ) and St. Mary Church .
Day Three :
Day Tour to Coptic Museum Coptic Museum , founded in 1910 AD to fulfill the needs of displaying monuments referred to that period in order to easily trace the history of Christianity in Egypt.
The objects displayed rise up to 16000 pieces approximately, arranged as possible in chronological order in 12 different sections.
Afternnon visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue which was originally a Christian church.
Early Evening visit the Famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar
Day Four :
Overday visit to Wadi AL Natrun , a cultivated valley connected to the Coptic Church. In the valley there are several Coptic Monasteries , visit the Monasteries of Chapel, Anba Beshoi , El Sorian, Abu Makar & Al Baramous
Back to Cairo and Overnight
Day Five :
Day Tour to Pelusium , An ancient Egyptian city on the easternmost mouth of the Nile River now called “ Tel Farama “ . It lies about 20 miles southeast of Port Said, in the Sinai Peninsula. One of the first resting places of the Holy Family, the city has long been destroyed however today it is an active archeological dig with a First Century church being restored.
From Pelusium , continue to Tel Basta where Jesus caused a water spring to well up from the ground, and His presence caused the idols to crumble .
Later visit the site of Belbeis (ancient Philippos) to see "The Virgin Mary's Tree' then visit Mostorod where Virgin Mary bathed the Christ Child and washed his clothes
Last Stop at Samannoud where a large granite trough which was used by the Virgin for kneading dough, and a water-well which the Christ Child Himself hallowed.
Day Six :
Day Tour to Ein Shams , Matareya and Zeitoun visiting Synagogue of Unias , Ruins of the Ancient Monuments , St Mary’s Tree & the Christ’s Spring , Catholic Church of Holy Family and the landmarks of the early Coptic heritage
At the end of the day proceed to Maadi, which was outlying part of Memphis , the Capital of Egypt in the Earliest times, Visiting there Virgin Mary s Church ( The Famous Al Adaweya or Church of Ferry ) and the sanctuary with the Holy Bible
Day Seven :
At Noon Start driving to St. Catherine
Arrive St. Catherine , check in Hotel & Rest all Day to prepare for the Early Dawn Tour
Dinner & Overnight at Hotel in St. Catherine
Day Eight :
Wake-up at 02:00 and leave the Hotel at 03:00
Start Climbing Mount Moses , Watch Sun Rise and start Descending to visit St. Catherine Monastery , Probably one of Egypt's most famous monasteries , was built between 527-565 AD by Emperor Justinian to house the bones of St Catherine of Alexandria. The monastery houses the worlds second largest collection of illuminated manuscripts .
Late Breakfast at Hotel then Drive to Suez and Overnight
Day Nine :
Drive to the Coptic Monastery of St. Antony & St. Paul near the Red Sea coast of Egypt .
Both are the oldest inhabited monasteries in Egypt. Hidden deep in the Red Sea Mountains and relying on springs for their water supply, both still observe rituals that have hardly changed in over sixteen centuries. Rather like a self-contained village, the monastery has gardens, a mill, a bakery and five churches.
Back to Cairo and overnight
Day Ten :
In the Morning head Towards Southern Egypt to Deir El Garnos , near to Maghagha City and Visit Al Garnos Monastery & the holy Family's Well then cross the Nile Towards the Eastern Bank to Gabal El Tair or Gabal El Kaf to visit the Virgin Mary's Monasery.
Day Eleven :
Drive South to Nazlet Al Abed , Visiting Abed Tree ( the Worshipper’s Tree ) then proceed to El Barsha, Visiting El Barsha Monastery , then Crossing the Nile to Ashmonien to visit the Roman Ruins.
Day Twelve :
Visit the Monastery of Al-Muharraq which was built around the area where the Holy Family remained just over six months. The Monastery is redolent of the Coptic Christian ethos. So hallowed are its intimations , that the Copts of Egypt named it the Second Bethlehem.
Proceed more to South to visit Gabal Dronka and the Virgin Mary's Monastery
Day Thirteen :
Drive back to Cairo and free day for rest
Day Fourteen :
Day Tour to the Egyptian Museum where the real golden treasures of the famous Tut Ankh Amon together with the main master pieces of our pharaohs are exposed. Then Visit the ancient great Pyramids of Giza , along with the steadfast guard , the Sphinx .
Camel Ride at Pyramids Area
Evening Enjoy Nile Cruise Farewell Dinner with Oriental Show and Belly Dancing
Day Fifteen :
Transfer to the airport for final Departure . End of Service
